Google recently introduced  it’s +1 feature.  This is a button that you can put on your website pages similar to the Facebook “Like” button.

According to Google “Adding +1 buttons to your pages is a great way to help your content stand out in Google search. By giving your visitors more chances to +1 your pages, your search results and search ads could show up with +1 annotations more often, helping users see when your pages are most likely to be useful.”

So, it looks like Google will be taking into consideration the # of recommendations a page gets from the +1 button when ranking search results pages.

You don’t want to jump on this bandwagon too late as you may see your competitors ranking higher than you if they take advantage of the +1 button first.

We recommend you install the +1 button on all your website pages that are indexed by Google and rank in the search results for keywords related to your business.
